Here are some ideas to make your winter wonderland vacation in the 1000 Islands unforgettable!

 

Skiing

Dryhill Ski Area offers family friendly downhill skiing and snowboarding  in the 1000 Islands, Watertown, NY. Trails are open Wed-Sun with extended days during holidays and school breaks. Explore the terrain park, tubing area, snowshoe trails, night skiing and a fireside lounge.

Their snow tubing park is open Friday-Sunday for ages 4 and up.

Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing & Hiking

The 1000 Islands offers miles of public trails for trekking and gliding in places like Wellesley Island State Park, Thousand Islands Land Trust and many more. It's a great way to enjoy fesh air and crisp white snow. Our hotel concierge can help you arrange equipment rental  if needed.

The village of Clayton, NY recreation department also offers public indoor ice skating.
 

Outdoor Photography

Grab your camera and capture the unspoiled beauty that abounds during a 1000 Islands winter. Imagine shooting sunsets on the river, the a sky full of stars behind illuminated Tibbetts Point Lighthouse or the natural habits found in preserves from the Thousand Islands Land Trust or Indian River Lakes Conservancy. Fishing

Enjoy fishing fun all year long including ice fishing in the winter months. The St. Lawrence River provides world-class angling on a grand scale, offering some of the best fishing in New York for bass, northern pike, muskellunge and walleye.
